I wanted to do and be more, but my negative perspective of the situation only made it that much harder to actually get things done. A close friend helped me consider that my expectations of myself might not be the expectations God even had for me.

One day during my quiet time, I was venting to God about why I am the way I am, and how badly I just wanted to feel included. He spoke so strongly and clearly to me saying, “Elisha, I never called you to fit in. I called you to live set apart for Me!” He then took me to Jeremiah 1:5, and everything became so clear.

In this season, I had to choose obedience even when I didn’t understand what God was doing. If I’m being honest, I still don’t fully get it but I’m still choosing to believe that He’s making me available for the road ahead of me.
