Taking the Leap to Pursue Your Purpose Changes Everything

My career path actually started out in the corporate world, where I was an engineer and project manager.

I was really good at my job and had a nice salary, but my heart kept drifting towards how I could encourage and support my co-workers more than how I could design networks to support the business.

I was never a risk taker, but with my heart longing for more every single day, I searched for new opportunities.

I transferred to training and development, and although I was happier as a corporate trainer, it still didn’t feed my soul.

Eventually my department was outsourced and I was offered another role, but I realised I wasn’t really happy and it was affecting my health. So I volunteered to take a layoff package since my husband’s salary could support us

I left the corporate world to explore my passions and discover what I was really meant to do. I felt I was supposed to be doing work that made a difference in people’s lives, but I didn’t quite know what that would be yet.

Even when we started a family, and I was a stay-at-home mom, I still couldn’t shake that strong pull to start pursuing what was in my heart.

In time, the Lord spoke to me and I knew my purpose was to help people to know their value and become and fulfill all He meant for them.

I was always finding different ways to encourage others and then one day, God revealed that the way He was formally calling me to carry out my purpose would be life coaching, teaching, and writing with a focus on Christian women.

Though I still didn’t fully have confidence in myself, I chose to be obedient despite my fear and doubt and step out with confidence in God. So after completing my professional training, I started building my business from home while I cared for my family.

God soon led me to a ministry focused on Christian life planning where I served and grew even more in my passion, abilities, and confidence toward my calling.
Is God also calling you to take a leap of faith to pursue your purpose?

I did have to learn a few lessons along the way about following God’s timing and pace to balance life as a mom and entrepreneur, and now that my kids are young adults, I have more time and space in my life to step even further into my purpose.

I was only able to live a life with true passion, confidence and fulfillment when I walked away from my plan to follow God’s plan and purpose for me.

“See I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up, do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland”. (Isaiah 43:19 NIV)

It was scary to walk into the unknown, to leave the career that I had completed four tough years of college for, not yet knowing what was next. But God gave me clarity along the way.


It was scary to pursue a purpose that felt so much bigger than me and not yet knowing if I had the ability to really be successful at it. But God revealed my strengths and put people and opportunities in my life to equip me.

It was scary to navigate the ups and downs and winding path of chasing my dreams while chasing my kids. But God gave me wisdom to learn to follow His will and definition of success.

Looking back, I’m so glad that even though it was scary, I made the choice to take the leap into the unknown, following God’s whispers in my heart, instead of staying in the familiar. The familiar was draining me of true life. The unknown with God was breathing new life into me.

When I made the decision to find out who I really was and what I was really called to do, it changed everything.

One decision would make me available for God, to pursue His special purpose for my life. “For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” (Ephesians 2:10 NIV)

One decision would make me available for myself, tapping into the passions and dreams God planted in my heart to live a more fulfilling life inside and out.

One decision would make me available for others, to help them in the way God equipped me to make an impact for His glory.

Not everyone’s purpose is their job, but I thoroughly love my work as a Life Purpose Coach. It perfectly fits how God made me and I’m blessed with the opportunity to walk alongside women in my purpose as a spiritual companion, encourager, and voice of truth to help them step into God’s extraordinary vision for their life.

If you’re feeling the Spirit whispering to your soul to pursue God’s purpose, but you feel scared to take the leap, seek God’s wisdom and power to have the courage to step out in His timing.

When you make yourself available to God, you will not only be a blessing, but will also be blessed.

“Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.” (Ephesians 3:20 NIV)
