I didn’t have many boyfriends in my teenage years, I dated two guys and they were my gods.
I cherished them and ultimately gave my all, neglecting the imperative things that my soul really needed.
As I continued college, I found myself engaged, planning a wedding, working and getting ready to attend the next police academy class.
Little did I know, but the wedding wasn’t going to happen and by HIS grace, I was given a chance to encounter God and the special plans He had for me.
Fast forward almost 16 years, and I am now a follower of Jesus Christ. I am also a wife
to a wonderful godly, loving, and patient husband, whom I get to do life with as we raise our three beautiful children.
The Lord has blessed us so much and although life has its ups and down, I wouldn’t want it any other way.
We need God and I have learned that there is no better way than to surrender your will, your plans and your idols.
Everything and everyone else else will fall into its appropriate place.
God has proved Himself to be my Rock, my Refuge and most importantly, my first love.
I have so many verses from the scriptures that I hold onto and meditate on throughout my walk with Christ. One of them is Matthew 6:33, NKJV,
“But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you”.
This verse is so crystal clear: Jesus needs to be number ONE.
Whatever you may be struggling with, doubts or fears, trust the Lord and keep Him first in everything.
