Giving Up Control and Finding Freedom In Jesus

May 28, 2022 THE MMA TEAM

As I look at my children. I think of how wonderful they are, and how blessed I feel that God picked me specifically to be there Mommy.

I think of ways I can surprise them for their birthdays, and the plans I have to make their childhood fun. I get excited as I watch them grow and love their smiles and laughter.

Most of the time, these thoughts I have towards my children are not known by anyone else but God, and He has these same thoughts and even greater about  you and me.

While you sleep, when you wake up, and as you start your day, the Lord is with you.

He goes before you, leading you with His strong arms. He is all knowing, always shows up and you can trust him with everything.

He knit you together in your mother's womb. He knew you before you knew him. He is loving, He is kind. I could go on and on.

You see I know all these things now, but when life got really hard, I doubted.

I doubted who He was as I held my beautiful prematurely born 28-week old baby in my arms.

I doubted who He was when different health issues consumed my body.  I grasped onto what I could control instead of clinging to the one who knew.

God knew what He was doing then and He never changes. His thoughts are not our thoughts and HIS  way are not our ways.

A lot of prayers were answered in the unknown and some still need answers. But guess what? That’s ok!

God knew the future when I
didn’t and through the pain, I have learned to give up control and lean into the freedom found in Jesus.

To just speak out all my thoughts to HIM, breathe when I have no words and remember that God is a father who cares deeply for you and I. He will protect and take care of you through the good and bad times.

I encourage you to be confident and find comfort in knowing in your heart that He is all knowing when you cannot see what is ahead in life. Just simply know HIS  character and His promises.

Finally remember your need for HIM every day after all HE knows what you need even before you do.

Psalm 46:10-11 says, “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.” The Lord Almighty is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress.'

Isaiah 55:8-9 “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the Lord. “As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts”.
