Don't Let Discouragement Define Your Defining Moments"

April 27, 2022 THE MMA TEAM

A defining moment can shape your life in the most unexpected way and whet it creates an backlash or benefit, change will be on the table.
*
In 2011, I had a defining moment that opened the door to a spiritual battle which threatened my joy as a result of something that I believe God had said to me.
*
I had just woken up and it was the morning after I submitted a resignation for a job that I was very excited to have gotten. You see it was only after a year or so into it that I developed a condition that doctors diagnosed as Fibromyalgia. They did not have the information and treatments back then that they have now, but nonetheless it was a season of great struggle for me.
*
Anyway, that morning when I woke up, I felt the grief from the loss of my health and my position. I had become to ill to work effectively and consistently. I heard a soft voice whisper inside my heart "This will be one of the greatest things that happened to you". I was stunned and frankly offended at the words. My heart sank and I became angry at God in that moment.
*
I had walked with Him for years, I loved Jesus dearly and my grief opened the door to rebellion towards the good things He was calling me to.
*

Back then I had no idea that going through that ordeal would lead me on a path of seeking Jesus like never before.
*
My prayer life went to another level and my love for His word blossomed. I had some really rough days that I will share on another occasion, but God brought me through it. It did not feel good, but in the end - it worked for my overall good. It took a few years to get to a point of redemption, but God's work was very defining in my life even though I allowed my initial attitude to define the moments of that morning in a negative way. My mindset need to change.
*
When I drifted from pride and rebellion to God's calling for a deeper relationship, my health began to improve as well. My healing process was not a quick work, but the Father has a way of  lovingly peeling back the layers that hold us captive in our bodies, souls and hearts. He can change things in a moment. He can change things over time. His love, wisdom and sovereignty all determine the timeline.

No matter what moments you are facing, allow God to define the defining moments. His love is being incomprehensible and His plan is far better than anything that you can ask, think or imagine. Please pray and meditate on the verses below about change and transformation. They will renew your mindset and shape and define your own key moments.

 Galatians 2:20

I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.

2 Corinthians 5:17

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.

Romans 12:2

Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.

Ezekiel 36:26-27

And I will give you a new heart, and a new spirit I will put within you. And I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a quick heart of flesh. And I will put my Spirit within you,  and cause you to walk in my statutes and be careful to obey my rules.
